Why it works
This runs on donors and volunteers. Nothing else.
Watches build community and friendship, and that's the same spirit that gets our shipments packed. Nobody here takes a salary, and 100% of your contribution is tax-deductible.
Our storyMission
Leverage the power of watches to address education, hunger, healthcare, and humanitarian aid.
Watches for Good began inside a private watch group of Googlers called watches@. A raffle for a NOMOS Tangente turned into a COVID mask fundraiser; the fundraiser turned into a food program; the food program turned into a 501c3 non-profit.
The mechanism is simple. Collectors and brands donate or collaborate with us. We turn these opportunities into campaigns — raffles, auctions, limited editions, tournaments — and route the proceeds directly to a specific, verifiable need. Then we publish the ledger. Every fiscal year since 2020 is online for anyone to read.
We are volunteers. No salaries, no overhead-heavy programs, no intermediaries between a donation and the shipment it pays for.

About
How a raffle became a charity
How we started
The NOMOS Tangente we raffled for charity — in cooperation with NOMOS, Reis-Nichols Jewelers, and watches@, a private group of Googlers — started Watches for Good.
In 2020, our volunteers united in the fight against COVID-19: feeding 2,000+ families in the San Francisco Bay Area and purchasing 15,000+ surgical masks distributed across homeless shelters and hospitals.
Non-profit information
We are an official 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation acknowledged by the IRS. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

The movement
Every campaign is a wheel
Its diameter is the money that moved through it; its thickness is what you're measuring. Drag to orbit, click a wheel to open it.
{{ ledger.centsPerDollar }}% of everything we spend goes to running this place.
The rest goes into campaigns and payment processing. These figures are pulled straight from the published spreadsheet each time this page loads — we don't retype them, so they can't drift.

Of spend went to programs
Every dollar we spent, split three ways
Campaign by campaign
Raised against deployed. Where deployed exceeds raised, the general fund covered the difference.
